π Why I Bought the Kindle 11th Gen
Iβve been meaning to read more β and reduce my screen time β but juggling paperbacks while commuting, traveling, or lying in bed just wasnβt cutting it anymore. So I picked up the Kindle 11th Gen, also known as the 2025 basic Kindle, and it honestly exceeded my expectations π―
After a few weeks of use, hereβs what Iβve learned β both the good and the not-so-perfect.
𧩠Key Features & What It’s Like to Use Daily
π₯οΈ Crisp 6β E-Ink Display
The new high-resolution screen is a huge upgrade β 300 PPI means the text looks sharp and clean, just like printed ink. No backlight glare, even outdoors on a sunny day βοΈ. Iβve read outside at lunch and on the train without any trouble.
π‘ Adjustable Front Light & Dark Mode
Perfect for nighttime reading without disturbing your partner β I use it every night in bed. And switching between light/dark modes is seamless. ππ
π Battery Life That Just Keeps Going
Amazon claims weeks of battery life, and so far, theyβre not kidding. Iβve charged it once in three weeks β and I read nearly every day. πβ‘
πͺΆ Compact, Lightweight & One-Hand Friendly
It weighs just 158 grams. Thatβs lighter than most phones. I often hold it with one hand while having my morning coffee, and itβs super comfortable β even during longer sessions β
π¦ Plenty of Storage
With 16GB of space, you can easily fit thousands of eBooks. I loaded it with 50+ titles and still have room for way more. Perfect for travel, school, or people who like to switch between genres.

π What I Loved
β
USB-C charging β finally, no more digging for old micro-USB cables
β
Super portable β fits in a small bag or coat pocket
β
Zero distractions β no apps, no notifications, just books
β
Great value β especially at the current discounted price (around β¬95 instead of β¬119) πΈ
β
Kindle ecosystem β easy access to Prime Reading, Kindle Unlimited, and syncing across devices
π€ What Could Be Better
β Not waterproof β unlike the Kindle Paperwhite, so youβll want to keep it dry
β Slight screen lag when navigating menus or changing settings β not annoying, but itβs not instant like a tablet
β No warm light option β which some might miss during long nighttime sessions
These arenβt dealbreakers for me, but if you read in the bath or love tweaking color temps, you might prefer the Paperwhite.
π Compared to Other Kindles
Versus Kindle Paperwhite:
- The Paperwhite has a bigger 6.8β screen, waterproofing, and warm light.
- But itβs more expensive and slightly heavier.
Verdict:
If you want an affordable, no-frills Kindle that nails the basics β this is the one.
If you want a premium experience for beach or bath reading, the Paperwhite is worth the extra cost.

β Final Verdict: 8.5/10
ββββββββββ
The Kindle 11th Gen does exactly what it promises: gives you a comfortable, distraction-free way to read β anywhere, anytime. Itβs compact, sharp, and a true battery champ ππͺ
Is it the flashiest gadget? No.
But is it a fantastic reader under β¬100? Absolutely.
If you want to read more β and carry less β this Kindle might just be your new best friend.
